About The Game

Worm is a fun little game that is based on the classic Snake game that everyone enjoys. All the same elements are here, except this time the game is in full colour and is complemented with a fun and lively musical score.

Minimum Specification

At the time of writing, the game is only available for the PC. The recommended minimum specification is as follows.

DirectX is available from the Microsoft web site and the latest OpenGL drivers can be obtained by downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card. Note that the game will default to DirectX if it is available, otherwise it will attempt to use OpenGL. If you are able to use both you can switch drivers by pressing [G] on the title screen (one may give you better performance than the other).

Playing The Game

As you play the game a numbered brick will appear within the playing area. The number will gradually decrease in value and it is your job to ensure that Worm manages to collect it before it reaches zero. The quicker you collect a brick, the more points you will score. Failure to collect a brick will mean the end of the game.

Bonus bricks will appear from time to time and could be worth picking up if you think you have the time to do so. The quicker you collect them, the more points they could have. They score anywhere within the range of 100 to 5,000 points.

Worm will gradually grow as bricks are collected, so it will soon become a game of quick thinking and strategy to ensure that you don't have too far to go for the next brick.

The only other thing you need to be aware of is that you cannot run into your own tail or the edge of the playing area, as either will result in the end of the game.

You control Worm with either the cursor keys or the [Z], [X], [@] and [?] combination.

You can pause the game with [P]. To start the game again press [P], [Space] or [Esc].

You may also toggle the music on and off by pressing [M] on the title screen. To return to the desktop press [Esc].
